Decided to give you another day to work on the Order of Operations Shade assignment that I gave out yesterday in class. I will collect this tomorrow. Tomorrow we will be having a quiz on 1.1 to 1.3 from our textbook.

Had 30 minutes to work on the Order of Operations Shade handout. Please remember to solve the problems on the back of the handout or on another piece of paper. Make sure you number the problems. Due tomorrow. Don't forget that we are having a quiz on Thursday on 1.1 to 1.3. If you haven't turned in your Menu Math assignment or syllabus signature, get that into me ASAP. I have a lot of papers in the no name pile. Please check your grade in Infinite Campus. If there are zeros next to any assignment, read the comments I left regarding that assignment. 
Started going over 1.3 Order of Operations. Your assignment for today is to go to Big Ideas online to complete 1.3 Order of Operations (pg. 20. #6-14, 18-19, 24 in the textbook. Had about 20 minutes in class to work on this. If you didn't finish it in class please finish it today.
If you haven't turned in the syllabus signature paper or the Menu Math yet please turn those in ASAP. This Thursday we will be having a quiz on 1.1 to 1.3 from our textbook. Went to Big Ideas online through Clever to complete 1.2 Powers and Exponents (pg. 14. #4-12, 14-17, 25-32 in the book). Please make sure you submit your answers in Big Ideas when you are done. Should have been able to get it done in class. If you didn't, please finish it this weekend. We will be having our first quiz next week. I will tell you on Monday when it is. Passed out a copy of the Advanced Course 1 syllabus for the class that I gave out at Back To School Night last night. You need to take it home and go over it with one of your parents. Please sign the last page and return it for points for you grade. Went over 1.2 Powers and Exponents today. Don't forget that your Menu Math Assignment is due tomorrow.
Finished going over 1.1 Whole Number Operations. Went to Big Ideas online through Clever to complete 1.1 Whole Number Operations Part 2 (pgs. 7-8 #11, 21-25, 29-34 in the textbook. Had about 20 minutes in class to work on this. If you didn't finish the Big Ideas online assignment from yesterday please make sure you get that done. Remember to submit your answers in Big Ideas when you are done.

I passed out a handout for this in class. We will continue filling out these notes tomorrow. This paper should go in your 3-Ring Binder. Got iPads and logged into Clever to complete an assignment on Big Ideas online. The assignment is 1.1 Whole Number Operations (pg. 7. #8, 9, 13, 16, 17-20 from the textbook. Please remember to submit your answers when you are done with the assignment from Big Ideas online. If you don't have access to an electronic device at home you may come by R1 in the morning before school from 8:00 to 8:30 to complete the assignment on an iPad

Solved some problems based on a menu where we replaced the letter(s) in the problem with the price of the food item in the menu. Went over the Menu Math Assignment. You are going to be creating your own Menu based on the one where we solved some problems. On the blank white paper I passed out you are going to make a menu. On the menu you are going to put the name of the restaurant. You need to have at least 7 food items with prices. There should be at least 5 problems on the menu using variables. Do not put the answers on the menu. Make sure the menu is colorful. On the index card I provided, please put down the answers only to the problems you put on your menu. On lined paper that you need to provide you need to solve the problems you created on your menu showing your work. Worked on it for about 30 minutes in class. Below is a rubric for this assignment. Don't forget that the Extra Credit Website Scavenger Hunt is due Sunday at Midnight. If you haven't turned in your Mathography or Name Pattern assignments yet, please turn them in next week.
