Continued going over 1.2 Powers and Exponents.  Assignment for today is pg. 14-15 #14-17, 25-32, 40, 41.  Had 10 minutes in class to work on this.  Due tomorrow.

Finished going over the notes for 1.1 Whole Number Operations.  Assignment for today is 1.1 Practice Handout.  Please do problems 3, 4, 9, 11, 13-15.  Had 20 minutes in class to work on this.  Remember for the word problems to put your answer in a complete sentence.  

Continued taking notes on 1.1 Whole Number Operations.  Your assignment for today is pg. 7 #8-9, 11-15, 18-19, 21 from the textbook.  I showed you how to fold your paper when doing your assignment.  I call this "making boxes."  We folded our paper in half three times.  In the upper right box you always need to put your first and last name, Period you have math, the date, and the assignment.  One problem goes in a box including all the work your do for that problem.  For the word problems, please put your answer in a sentence.  Problems 8, 9, and 11 are word problems.  Had 20 minutes in class to work on this.  This is due tomorrow.  One of the supplies i wanted you to get was a red pen.  Please make sure you have this tomorrow in class.  We will be using it.  

I collected the Menu Math assignment today.  If you didn't turn it in, please get it turned in as soon as possible.  Started taking notes on 1.1 Whole Number Operations.  The notes I gave you for this should be in your 3 ring binder.  We will continue with these notes tomorrow.  

Talked about the No Name Pile.  This is where I put papers with no name on it.  Every few weeks I will empty this pile.  Please check your grades on Infinite Campus at least once a week.  If you see a zero next to an assignment there will be a comment from me.  Read the comment.  If you see a zero next to an assignment that you believed you turned in, check the no name pile.  More than likely that is where it is.  If you need help from me ouside of school I am available before school from 8:oo to 8:30.  On Wednesdays it is from 9:00 to 9:30.

​i-Ready.  Don't forget that you Menu Math assignment is due tomorrow.  When you turn in this assignment you will be turning in 4 things-> your menu, index card with the answers only, lined paper where you solve your problems showing your work, and the Menu Math Grading Rubric Handout.
