Went over 1.2 Powers and Exponents.  Assignment for today is pgs. 14-15 #4-12, 14-17, 25-32.  For this assignment please put two problems in a box.   Make sure for each question, your write out the problem and then give me the answer.  Had 15 minutes in class to work on this.  PERIOD 5 YOU ARE DOING THE FOLLOWING ASSIGNMENT PG.  14 #4-12, 14-17.  REMEMBER PERIOD 5 ONLY PUT ONE PROBLEM IN A BOX.  MAKE SURE FOR EACH QUESTION, YOU WRITE OUT THE PROBLEM AND THE GIVE ME THE ANSWER.

Finished going over 1.1 Whole Number Operations.  Assignment for today is a handout called 1.1 Practice Handout.  Please do problems. 3-4, 5-6, 9-15.  Solve these problems on a piece of lined paper by making boxes.  Remember one problem goes in a box.  Had 20 minutes in class to work on this.  

Continued looking at 1.1 Whole Number Operations.  Your assignment for today is pg. 7 #11, 16-17, 19, 21-23.  For period 5 your assignment is pg.  11, 16-18, 19, 21-22.  Had 15 minutes in class to work on this.  Remember for your assignment, one problem goes in a box.  

If you are absent from class when an assignment is due it is your responsibility to turn it in when you get back to class.  It is also your responsibility to find out what you missed in class.

Periods 3 and 5 I collected your Menu Math assignment.  If you haven't finished it yet and didn't turn it in please get that turned in as soon as possible.  

For period 1 your Menu Math Assignment is due on Monday August 28th.  

All periods we finished working on the IXL Diagnostic Test.  

Passed out log in information for a website called IXL.  This is something we will be using this year.  Please make sure you write your username and password for this in your binder reminder.  Began taking the Diagnostic Test for this.  We will continue this tomorrow.  For Periods 3 and 5, remember your Menu Math assignment is due this Wednesday.   Please see the post from August 17th for more information about this.

For Period 1 we started the Menu Math Assignment.  You are going to be creating your own Menu based on the one we looked at the beginning of class.  On the blank white paper I passed out you are going to make a menu.  On the menu you are going to put the name of the restaurant.  You need to have at least 7 food items with prices.  There should be at least 5 problems on the menu using variables.  Do not put the answers on the menu.  Make sure the menu is colorful.  On the index card I provided, please put down the answers only to the problems you put on your menu.  On lined paper that you need to provide you need to solve the problems you created on your menu showing your work.  Below is a rubric for this assignment.  Please bring this with you on Monday.  Don't forget the Website Scavenger Hunt is due this Sunday at Midnight.  Remember this is an extra credit assignment.  You do not need have to do this
