Started the Menu Math Assignment. You are going to be creating your own Menu based on the one we looked at the beginning of class. On the blank white paper I passed out you are going to make a menu. On the menu you are going to put the name of the restaurant. You need to have at least 7 food items with prices. There should be at least 5 problems on the menu using variables. Do not put the answers on the menu. Make sure the menu is colorful. On the index card I provided, please put down the answers only to the problems you put on your menu. On lined paper that you need to provide you need to solve the problems you created on your menu showing your work. Below is a rubric for this assignment. We will be working on this tomorrow in class.

Don't forget that your Mathography and Name Pattern assignments are due tomorrow.

Talked about the Website Scavenger Hunt Extra Credit Assignment which is due this Sunday at Midnight. This assignment is not mandatory. You do not have to do this. It will only help your grade, not hurt it. Remember all the answers to the questions can be found on this website. Don't forget to submit your answers at the bottom of the WEBSITE SCAVENGER HUNT when you are done. Have fun!

We worked on the MAPS test for a second day. Remember your Mathography assignment and Name Pattern assignment are due on Friday

Started taking the MAPS test today in class on the iPads. We will continue with this tomorrow. Don't forget your Mathography assignment is due this Friday. Please see yesterday's post for information about this. If you haven't finished your Name Pattern assignment please get that into me by the end of the week.

For your information, Open House will be on August 31st. More information about this will come later.

Hi! Welcome to David A Brown Middle School and Advanced Math Course 1. This blog is where you will find out information about this class such as what we will be doing each day, what assignments you have, class notes, when there will be tests and quizzes, and any handouts you will need to complete your assignments.

Finished working on the Name Pattern Assignment from last week. If you didn't get it done in class, please finish it at home and turn it in to me by the end of the week. There is a copy of the grid at the bottom.

In class today you got an assignment called Mathography. It will be due this Friday. You will be writing me a letter based on the handout I passed out today. You may write the letter on paper using pen or pencil or you may type it on the computer. If you would like to email me your assignment you may do so. My school email is [email protected]. In your email, please make sure you tell me who you are (first and last name). When you complete this assignment, please make sure it is in the format of a letter. We went over the format of a letter in class. If you choose to email me your letter, please put in a document and attach it to the email. Below is a copy of the Mathography handout.
